Module 4 focuses on animal kinesiology; or how joints and muscles are used to produce movement. The information learned in Module 3 joins together with kinesiology to clarify the meaning of correct movement in an animal and what issues may occur when movements are not efficient.
Module 5 Gait analysis, lameness evaluation and conformation are discussed in this module. How massage can assist to reduce pain or improve incorrect use of muscles is also discussed. We conclude by looking at how in-born traits can affect efficient and pain-free movement.
Module 6 includes a discussion of the actual massage techniques in detail. Many photos are included to help you visualise the techniques and “see-feel” the movements you will use.
Applications of the techniques you learned in Module 6 on the animal body are described in Module 7. The information acquired in all previous modules is used to make sense of what techniques are considered best for particular muscle groups and why.
